Who we are

EB Media Inc. is a web design and development company based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This policy covers information collected through ebmediasolutions.com. It does not cover websites we build and host for clients — those are governed by each client’s own privacy policy.

What we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form on this site, we receive your name and email address, and, if you choose to provide them, your business or organization name, phone number, estimated budget, project timeline, and the message you write. We also record which page of our site you submitted the form from, so we can understand which parts of the site are useful.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — pages viewed, roughly how long people stay, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location derived from IP address. We use this information in aggregate to understand website usage and do not use Google Analytics to try to identify individual visitors.

Our site also runs Google Ads tags. These let us measure whether advertising leads to enquiries, and allow Google to show our ads to people who have visited this site before. This works through cookies and identifiers set by Google, described under Cookies below.

How we use it

By submitting information through our contact form, you are asking us to use that information to respond to your enquiry and discuss your project. We do not use that submission to enrol you in unrelated marketing. If you become a client, it becomes part of our ordinary business records.

Analytics information is used to improve the website — which pages people find, which they leave, and what needs rewriting. Advertising information is used to measure and target our own ads, as described below.

We do not sell your information. We do not share the details you send us with anyone for their own marketing purposes. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in the contact form.

Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate and understand this website, including:

• Google Analytics — website usage statistics. Google sets cookies to do this. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on.
• Google Ads — measuring whether our advertising leads to enquiries, and showing our ads to people who have visited this site. This involves Google and its advertising domains, including doubleclick.net.
• Adobe Fonts — the typefaces on this site load from Adobe, which means Adobe receives a request from your browser when you load a page.
• Mailgun — the service that delivers contact form submissions to us by email. Your message passes through Mailgun on its way to our inboxes.

Each of these operates under its own privacy policy. If we add or change a service in a way that affects what is collected here, we will update this page.

Cookies and your choice

This site uses cookies and similar technologies through the services above. In practice that means:

• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, which help us understand how the site is used.
• Advertising cookies set by Google Ads, which allow us to measure ad performance and to show our ads to people who have visited this site.

Neither is set until you agree. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you choose, both are switched off — our tags load but store nothing on your device and set no identifiers. If you decline, they stay off.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and Google offers its own ad settings for controlling personalized advertising. The site works normally either way.

Where your information is stored

Our website hosting infrastructure is located in Canada. Some third-party service providers, including analytics, advertising and email providers, may process information outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Contact form submissions arrive as email and are stored in our email accounts. They are delivered through Mailgun, an email service provider that may process information outside Canada.

How long we keep it

We keep contact enquiries only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain appropriate business records, and meet legal or accounting requirements. When information is no longer required, we delete or securely dispose of it where practical.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request corrections where information is inaccurate, or ask us to withdraw or remove information where we are not required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Email info@ebmedia.ca and we’ll respond within the timeframes required by applicable privacy law. We may need to verify your identity before providing access to personal information. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems that hold enquiry information is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Privacy concerns

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
